Why are all the characters except mine and Shane's living their entire lives in the game? And most of them are trying to escape some fucked up life

It allows for a more in depth character, and makes it easier to explain any strange character traits they may have.

Yeah um. There's no problem with it...SO why ask? My character HAS another life, she just doesn't talk about it because it sucked.

My character isn't trying to escape a fucked up life using the game.. he played the game to much and fucked up his life... it's close, but still different. Plus, It kinda gets rid of that little plot hole that all of us can talk 24 hours a day in game, without logging off... if our characters didn't stay in all the time, wouldn't thay have to dissapear at some parts in the story? It just makes more sense if our characters "live" in the game.

Plus it happens regularly in real life, kids use video games to escape things going wrong at home. More often than not at a differant location than their house. But that last part is beside the point.
Not to mention it gives our characters something to empathize with. Something common with all of them which is another trait that can explain why they specifically were chosen. Woud you want the prep who's full of themselves fighting with you or the kid with a fucked up life who thinks more down to earth?

Also, "living" in the game also explains why we are superior to all other people on the nets, seeing as we have all day to train our skills.
And Dan, how is the last part beside the point?

Eh, it doesn't matter. We're all different characters with some similarities about our lives. Some of us don't even have real "lives" like Revan or something. *shrug* I think Dan was trying to say...
You know how Rikku (Final Fantasy NOT KINGDOM HEARTS) Kinda really SUCKS at battle? Yeah. She's all peppy and happy, and sucks at fighting. Now Auron. There's a fucked up guy. HE ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously. get it?

AND CLOUD. How did Cloud get to be so good? HE'S MEST! Woo7. Oh, and I'm sure it has nothing to do with his being a genetically enhanced superhuman 'SOLDIER'... But still, you do have a point there. P.S: Rikku doesn't suck at combat. On my FFX game she's one of my strongest characters. I gave her a weapon that has deathstike, stonestrike, and poisonstrike, so she almost allways kills whatever she steals from. And if it doesn't kill them, they're still at least crippled by poison. Plus she can use items nobody else can (And combine them with her overdrive).

Shane, exactly how is a genetically enhanced superhuman NOT fucked up? That is the exact reason WHY he is fucked up. Oh, and Rikku does generally suck, unless you pay special attention to leveling her up.

Precisely. The point was that Rikku, on her own, is not a great FIGHTER. She has other attributes, but she is essentially not a great fighter. And Auron, Cloud...Etc. They're great, and they have allll these problems.
